Holyoke - Carol Ann Wells, 68, passed away Thursday at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Caroline (Weston) LaMountain. Carol lived most of her life in West Springfield, graduating from West Springfield High School, Class of 1967. She was retired from Western Mass. Hospital, where she had worked for 29 years. Though Carol’s health had been in decline, she was well cared for by her sister Tracey, niece Charlene, and nephew William. Carol enjoyed collecting teddy bears and traveling throughout New England with Charlene. A faithful fan, she loved to root for the Patriots, Red Sox, and NASCAR favorite Ryan Newman. Carol is survived by her mother Caroline LaMountain; brothers and sisters: Michael LaMountain, Susan Sherman, David LaMountain, Theresa Williams, and Tracey Malley. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her father Arthur LaMountain in 2002 and her brother Tommy LaMountain in 2014.  Calling hours for Carol will be Thursday, February 8, from 4:00PM-5:30PM, at WESTFIELD FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield, with a Funeral Home Service at 5:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Heart and Vascular Program, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield MA 01199.
