Donald E. Clancy, 94, passed away Friday at home, surrounded by family. Donald was born on November 21, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Eugene and Lillian (Clash) Clancy. He was a New Yorker his whole life until the last few years, when he moved to Westfield, MA to be with his daughter's family. He served his country in the United States Navy with honor, during WWII as a gunner. He flew in 57 combat missions and was awarded numerous medals including; the Distinguished Flying Cross and 4 Navy Air Medals. Donald received his undergraduate and Juris Doctorate degrees from St. John’s University, to where he worked for CBS, in their legal department in Affiliate Relations for over 20 years, before he retired. He was a long-time parishioner and communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyr’s in Forest Hills, NY. He was a very active member of the Forest Hills community, especially in the Men's Club of Forest Hills, and as a long-time member of the West Side Tennis Club. Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Josephine (Wackerman) Clancy and his brother Raymond Clancy. He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Jo Jones and her husband Paul, and his cherished grandsons Ryan and Logan. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law: Gail Clancy, Doris Hammer, Regina Genova, and Clare Mansfield, as well as by many nieces and nephews. All services will be held in New York.
