Donald T. Davis died peacefully in his sleep on August 3, 2018, just two months shy of his 93rd birthday. He grew up in a loving household in Albany, NY with three brothers David, Albert and Gordon, where through frequent trips to the Adirondacks, his parents instilled in their children, a life long love of the natural world. Don continued to enjoy the natural beauty of the world thought his life. Don was proud of his Navy serviced in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. After the war, Don worked on the NY Central Rail Road, as an ‘over the road man’ for A&P store, delivering all through the Adirondacks, a job he adored. He moved to Westfield with is family in 1965, finishing his career as a foreman for NE Liquor Sales. Don retired at 60 and spent these last 32 years ‘having adventures’ and exploring the United States, collecting minerals and sharing his life of life with all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He was well known for his knowledge of minerals and geology, and loved passing on what he knew. Donald was predeceased by his two wives, Mildred and Olive, his son Donald Jr., his step-daughter Marianne Pomeroy, and his brothers David and Albert. He is survived by his eldest step-daughter Christine Paul and her husband Jim and their two children Gregory and Bryan, Marianne’s children Brenda and Eric and his companion of the last 29 years, Marget Jacobus. Don will be interred with full military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga, NY. All funeral services will be private.
