George E. Lewis

George E. Lewis, 67, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital on July 27, 2018.  Born and raised in Westfield, George was a man of many trades, working in carpentry, on the oil rigs, and roofing most of his life.  He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors but the most important to him was time spent with his daughter he loved dearly.  Known for his great sense of humor and kind heart, George will be missed by everyone that knew him.  Survived by his cherished daughter Mary Z. Lewis, significant other Hilda Bovat, brothers; Richard, Francis, Timothy and sister Sandra.  He was preceded by his parents George and Zephia(Thomas) Lewis, his sister Cindy and his brother Jack.  Calling hours for George will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5:30PM-7:30PM at WESTFIELD FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield, followed by a Funeral Service at 7:30PM.  Burial will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.  Please visit www.westfieldfuneralhome.com for George’s memorial page.
