Fargo - Janna L. Hansel, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Janna was born August 10, 1943 in Fargo ND, to the late Ewald and Evelyn (Hetager) Erickson. Janna grew up and lived in or near Fargo, North Dakota most of her life, moving to Massachusetts in retirement with her husband, Mark. She worked as a nurse for almost 30 years. She was a member to the First Lutheran Church of Fargo. Janna loved to paint, crochet, write poetry and build an extensive angel collection. She especially loved regular ocean visits. She was a lifelong avid reader. Janna was generous to a fault and gifted afghans and quilts to many relatives. She is survived by her beloved husband of 12 years Mark Hansel of Granby, MA, and by her sons Paul K. Johnson and his wife Jenise, of Lakeville, MN and Eric J. Johnson and his wife Connie of Moorhead, MN. She was the cherished grandmother to Pierce K. Johnson. She was predeceased by brother David Erickson, who died in childhood. A memorial services will be held at a later date in Fargo, North Dakota. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janna’s name can be made to the America Cancer Society.
