Kendrick Wayne Bishop, 78, passed away peacefully on January 3, at home surrounded by his loving family at his side. Ken was born on April 8, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MI, son to the late Arthur and Ethel (Doty) Bishop. He was an Air Force veteran where he proudly served for 4 years. He will be remembered for his big heart and a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He was their biggest fan. Ken was very artistic and loved to paint. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Doris (Giroux) Bishop, his loving children Kyle and his wife Janaura Bishop of CT, Kendra Mastello and her husband Garth of Russell, and the cherished “Babba” grandfather to Kaitlin, Karly, Shane and Devita. He was predeceased by his five siblings. Calling hours for Ken will be Friday, January 10th from 9:30AM-11:00AM at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30AM at St. Mary’s Parish, 30 Bartlett Street in Westfield. A Spring burial with full military honors will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to a charity of one's choice.
