Westfield - Margaret P. Schnopp, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday.  Margaret was born in New York City on June 22, 1927 to the late John and Nellie (Ulm) Peterson.  Margaret was raised in New York City and made Westfield her home for over 60 years.  She was a woman devoted to her faith and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Westfield and she also taught CCD for many years.  She enjoyed knitting and painting. She was predeceased by her husband John W. Schnopp in 1997 and her son William A. Schnopp in 1979.  She is survived by her children Stephen E. and his wife Candi of Westfield, Peter J. and his wife Diane of Bernalillo, NM, Nan Rogers and her husband Mark of Waterbury, VT, Robert H. and his wife Judy of Westfield and John F. and his wife Donna of Westfield.  She was the cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by her sister Eleanor Bates and her husband Laurence of Southwick.  Friends and family are asked to gather Friday, May 4th at 11AM for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 127 Holyoke Road in Westfield.  Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to Alzheimers Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011 or New England Donor Services at www.neds.org/give or by mail to New England Donor Services, 60 First Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.  Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation is assisting the family with these arrangements.  Please visit www.westfieldfuneralhome.com for Margaret’s memorial page.
