Westfield - Our beautiful mother Ann A. Perry 91, was called to eternal rest on August 17, 2023 at home with her daughter and caregiver at her bedside.
Ann was born March 3, 1932 in Ludlow, MA to the late Manuel Augusto and Joaquina (Morgardo) Augusto, immigrants of Portugal. Ann attended Ludlow schools.
Ann is predeceased by her husband Lawrence (Bud) who died in 2015, her sister Diane Dominique, her brothers Joseph and Ralph Augusto and her eldest son Michael Perry who died in 2022.
Ann and Bud raised their four children in West Springfield. They lead by example working multiple jobs to provide a good life for their family. They proudly supported their sons sports and daughters dance. Ann and Bud were longtime parishioners of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Westfield and St Marks in The Villages.
In the 1980’s Ann and her husband owned and operated Larry Perry Sales, a restaurant equipment company in Springfield for 20+years, where she managed the books. In later years, Ann enjoyed working in her daughter’s retail store, Pilgrim Candle, Westfield, In 1983, Ann and Bud moved to be close to family in Westfield.
Then in 2003, they retired to The Villages, FL, where they enjoyed many happy years living close to their sons, brothers, sisters and grandchildren. As a result of her cognitive health, Ann moved back north in 2020 to live with her daughter and her family in Westfield.
Our Mother was devoted to her faith. She prayed the rosary morning and night and read her prayer book cover to cover. Many prayers were answered as a result of her devotion to St. Jude.
An avid golfer. A proud moment she loved to share was a Hole-in-One at the Nancy Lopez CC in FL. She was rewarded a wind chime presented by Professional golfer Nancy Lopez. Mom was well known for her delicious cuisine, passion for entertaining and decorating. As a lifetime crafter, she and our Dad participated in local craft shows and made wood toys for needy children at Christmas. Mom also crocheted lap blankets for patients in the nursing homes.
When not praying, golfing or cooking you would find Mom in her flower gardens nurturing her colorful blooms for all to enjoy.
