Westfield – Barry Richard Slattery, 72, passed away at home Sunday, November 6, 2016. Barry was born December 23, 1943 in Rockville, CT to the late Joseph and Dorothy Slattery. Barry proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member to the American Legion Post 124 in Westfield, to where he was a bar manager for many years. Barry was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed football, baseball and gambling. He belonged to Tekoa Country Club and was on the Shell Fauce Golf League. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen Slattery. Calling hours for Barry will be Wednesday from 5-630PM with a Funeral Home Service at 630PM at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield. Burial with military honors will take place on Thursday at 10AM at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Memorial donations may be made in Barry’s name to the American Legion Post 124, 38 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
