Catherine Malachowski Obituary

Catherine Malachowski, 97, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 26, 2021.  Catherine was born on September 23, 1923, daughter to the late Sidor and Anna Rachek.  She was raised in Feeding Hills and was a graduate from Agawam High School.  Catherine was more of a homemaker raising her children, until she started to work for the City of Westfield in the Assessor’s Office.  She retired from the City of Westfield after 20 years of service.  She was a member to the 1st Methodist Church in Westfield.  Catherine could make the best Boston Creme Pies and Apple Pies.  She enjoyed her gardens and sewing.  Catherine is survived by her daughter Anita Malachowski, her grandchildren Marci Cooley and her husband Charlie, Darrell Malachowski and his wife Theresa and David Cumings,  a great grandmother to Karen Malachowski, and a sister to Mary.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years Peter Malachowksi in 2009, her sons Peter and Donald, and siblings Helen, Paul, Anita, and Olga.  The family will be holding a private service for Catherine with a burial at Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield.  To express condolences to the family of Catherine, please visit www.westfieldfuneralhome.com for Catherines tribute page.
