HOLT, Charles C. Age 97, of Gainesville, FL passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in Westfield, MA surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, T.J. & Ping Feng Holt; his brothers, John, Kevin, James (Hedy), Thomas (Debbie), and Fred (Linda). Charles grew up in Shanghai China, graduated from St. John's University (Shanghai) and came to the U.S. for graduate studies. He received a M.S. degree in architecture from Washington University, St. Louis, MO and a second M.S. degree in structural engineering from University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. He spent most of his career at Western Electric (AT&T, Lucent) as an R.A. architect / P.E. licensed senior engineer. He was the lead engineer for ground up construction of all Western Electric facilities spanning over 30 years. Some of his personal notable works included the Cafe Temple, the Jeanlu Building in Kailua HI, the King residence in New Jersey and the TJ Holt building in Westport CT. Following his retirement Charles assisted the Dean of Architecture at the University of Florida until 2017. His love was his family and putting them first. He is survived by his daughters Gloria (David) Hartman; Kathie (Paul) Blyskal, his son Clifford (Kim); grandsons Daniel (Emily) Blyskal, LT. Cdr Raymond Blyskal USN, Jonathan Holt, James Holt; and great grandson Duke Blyskal. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 13 at the WESTFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 4 PRINCETON ST., WESTFIELD, MA followed by Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery.
