DAVID HEWES SR. Obituary

Holyoke, MA – David Allen Hewes Sr. died on November 18, 2022, in Boston, Massachusetts.

David was born on December 25, 1952, in Northampton, MA to the late Clarence R. Hewes, III, and Barbara Richardson (Martin).

David loved his family, his dogs, his cats, his friends, and especially his God and Country. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his fishing camp in upstate New York. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially his boat. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W, AmVets, and the NRA, and as much as he loved all of them, we loved him more.

David leaves his wife Frances Hewes (Baker) of Holyoke, MA, his sons David A. Hewes, Jr. of Holyoke, MA and Jason Paul Hewes and his wife Jennifer of Ludlow, MA, his grandchildren Jada and Jacinda, his sisters Bonnie Riendau and her husband Ti of NH, and Betty Thurman of VA, his brothers: Clarence “Rusty” Hewes and his wife Helen of FL, Donald Sankolewicz and his wife Maria of VA, Patrick Sankolewicz and his wife Cindy of TN, Richard “Ricky” Sankolewicz of FL and Michael Richardson and his wife Beth of FL, along with many other family members and friends.

Burial with full military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery will be scheduled for the spring of 2023. Service details will be announced from here.
