DORIS (SCHOENENBERGER) LABARRE

Doris M. (Schoenenberger)  Labarre of Waunakee, WI passed away on August 14, 2025.

Doris was born in Holyoke, MA on December 6, 1932,  to Charles and Cecile (Huneault) Schoenenberger.

Doris graduated from Our Lady of the Mountain Academy in Gorham, NH. She later graduated from Springfield Technical College as a certified Dental Assistant and worked in an Orthodontic office.

Doris married Ernest D. Labarre on October 10, 1953, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Holyoke, MA. She lived in Holyoke until moving to Waunakee, WI  in 1991, and has since been a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Waunakee, WI.  Doris later settled in Cranberry Township, PA where she lived until the time of her passing. 

Doris enjoyed daily Mass, gardening, reading, travelling, and visiting family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Labarre, of 71 years, her  2 sons, Michael Labarre and his wife Karen, and Daniel Labarre and his husband Joe,  her 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Carol Labarre, her son Paul Labarre and his wife Deborah, her sisters Jane Loughnane and Francis Lawler and her husband John, her brothers-in-law Fredrick Beaudry and his wife Margaret, and Donald Gladu and his wife Mary.   

Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 8:30 am – 9:30 am at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princton St, Westfield, MA 01085 

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 127 Holyoke Rd, Westfield, MA 01085  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley, MA
