David C. Hefty

David C. Hefty, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Baystate surrounded by his beloved family.  David was born on April 20, 1953 in Holyoke, son to the late Charles R. And Ruth O. (Hewings) Hefty.  Dave was raised and educated in South Hadley and was a graduate of South Hadley High School.  Dave later attended STCC for accounting.  He later moved to Westfield, where he spent most of his life.  He was an electrician for Spaulding for many years before he retired.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed concerts, music and riding his motorcycles.  Dave loved playing his guitar and was a huge Beatles fan.  He is survived by his children Rachel Brewer and her husband Jayson, David J. Hefty, Patrick Hefty, and Amanda Hefty and her wife Tiffany.  He was the cherished Gramps to Jaden, Oliva, Nora, Danielle, Gabi, Jacob and Cayda.  He will be dearly missed by his sister Debbie Sayers and her husband Rick, and his best friend Doris.  David was predeceased by his son Gregory Hefty and his grandchildren Brooke Ashley and Caleb.  Dave was able to fulfill his wishes and be an organ donor, as selfless in life so he was in death.  The services for David will be private for the family.  To express condolences to the family of David, please visit www.westfieldfuneralhome.com for David’s tribute page.
