Donald E. Popek Sr.

Donald E Popek passed away on July 4 at Arbors in Westfield. He was born on October 11, 1931. He grew up in Becket but spent most of his life in Huntington with his wife of almost 69 years, Joyce (O‘Brien) Popek.  He leaves behind seven daughters and their families: Virginia Andrews of Pittsfield, Phyllis (Al) Lussier of Huntington, Christine Czepiel of East Hartford, Donna (Larry) Achee of Port Allen La, Valerie Popek of Pittsfield, Heidi (Rick) Pike of Granville and Heather (Tom) Mello of Becket. He was predeceased by three of his children: Donald Jr, Elaine and Karen.  He was a loving Grampa to his 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He worked hard to support his family at Westfield River Paper Company in Russell, but in his heart he was a farmer.
