Edward John McCabe

Edward John McCabe, 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family.  Edward was the son of the late James and Catherine (DeLorey) McCabe.  He was born  in Weymouth and raised in Quincy and later moved to Westfield in 1992. Edward proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Navy.  Edward was a Machinist and worked for Mestek before he retired.  Edward was a good family man and loved his family.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, cribbage and many games of horse shoes.  Edward is survived by his beloved wife Donna (Newell) McCabe.  He was the loving father of Eddie Jr and Martin.  He is the cherished grandfather to Melissa, Eric, Christopher, RJ, Michael, Maximus, Amber, Jack and Alyssa.  He was the caring brother of Marilyn McCabe.  He was predeceased by his son Kenneth in 2011, his sister Anne Hooper, and brother James McCabe.  There will be a private burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation has been entrusted with these arrangements.
