Elaine Rita (Barre) Wilson, 95, passed away on December 8, 2016 at The Grand Nursing Home, Guilderland, NY. Elaine was born January 6, 1921 in Spencer MA, to the late William G, Barre and Rose A. Lamothe. Elaine was a beloved wife and mother who leaves her son Gerard Wilson, her cherished 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband Charles T. Wilson in 1989, who was in the U.S. Army Infantry, a decorated combat veteran of WW2 and Korea, and her daughter Susan in 2006. In her youth, Elaine was an accomplished roller skater. She was active with her children Gerry, Susan and with her husband in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. At age 42, Elaine became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA. When Charlie retired from the army in 1963 they relocated to Springfield, MA. Elaine moved to assisted living in Niskayuna, NY in 2014 upon completing rehabilitation for a broken hip. She succumbed to complications from pneumonia. There will be a private graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129.
