JAMES A LAFRANCE

WHATELY – James A. LaFrance, 63, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Whateley, MA. 

James was born on September 26, 1960, in Northampton, MA to Richard J. LaFrance and Florence E. (Hoftman) LaFrance. 

James attended Southwick High School and worked for many years as a truck driver. 

James was a talented storyteller, woodworker, and an avid Cowboy’s Fan.  He always looked forward to his Saturday afternoon tradition of playing Uno, listening to music, and having a few drinks with his friends.  James will be fondly remembered by his family for playing Santa every year for all the kids of the family. 

James is pre-deceased by his mother Florence LaFrance and his brother David LaFrance. 

Survivors include his father Richard LaFrance of Whately, MA, his brother Mark LaFrance and his wife Lynn of Southwick, MA, his sister Michaele Lopez and her husband Ismael of West Springfield, MA, nieces, and nephews: Kaleena Burke and her husband Bob, Justin LaFrance and his wife Crystal, Michael LaFrance, Jacalin Soriano her husband Hamilton, Amadeus LaFrance, and Samantha LaFrance; great nieces, and nephews: Paytyn, Gavin, Aedan, Mason, and Hillary; his great friends: Chet and Rose, Don, Julie, and Steve, along with many other family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton St, Westfield, MA 01085 on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
