Jacqueline Pappas, 86, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on December 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Jacqueline was born on March 9, 1934 in Westfield, daughter to the late Edward and Dorothy (Aldrich) Gafga. Jacqueline was raised in Russell and educated at Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse before she retired from the Gateway School District. She was also the owner of the Russell Package Store with her husband John.
Jackie enjoyed spending as much time as possible at the beach in Wells, Maine with her husband John and granddaughter Kelly. However, her favorite place was in her own home on Grove Street enjoying her family. She was most happy when the "little ones" came to visit. Jackie also enjoyed being outside tending to her gardens.
She is survived by her children Paul Pappas and Karen Garen. She is the cherished grandmother to Kelly, Jennifer and Jason, and great grandmother to Jake, Makayla, Evan and Hazel. She will be dearly missed by her sister Janet Boyden, and to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years John Pappas in 2014. The family would love to thank Marie Zomek for her kind and compassionate care during Jacquline’s life. The services will be private for Jacqueline.
