James “Jim” B. McDaid, 60, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2016 at Country Estates Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Jim was born June 22, 1956 in Gourock, Scotland, son to the late Patrick J. and Mary (Barbour) McDaid. Jim came to the United States at the age of three and was raised in Granby, CT. Jim later joined the United States Navy and proudly served during Vietnam. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, riding was his passion. He could make the best cup of tea. He is survived by his brothers Donald and John. He will be missed by his ex-wife Kate, Ashley, Molly & Taylor and his grand children. Nieces Kelly & Steph, nephews Don Jr & Larry as well as several other cousins, family and friends. The funeral and burial for Jim will be private for the family.
