Joan (Hallock) Beatty

Joan Beatty, 86, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2020.  Joan was born in Westfield, daughter to the late Orion J. And Madlyn A. (Fallon) Hallock.  She was raised and educated in Chester, and was a graduate of Chester High School in 1951.  She retired from the City of Westfield, where she was a notary public and also a data clerk for Westfield Gas and Electric.  Joan enjoyed gardening but most of all she was a giver. She would always be there to help you no matter the circumstance.  She is survived by children Karen Avery, Cheryl McLaughlin (Peter), Kevin Beatty (Lisa Sheehan) and Sharen Engwer (Paul Kosik)  She was the grandmother “Nannie” to 11 grandchildren and 12 great grand children.  Joan is predeceased by her twin sister Jean, and her siblings Frances Jacobs, Charles Hallock, her grandson Bradley Beatty and her son-in-law George Avery. Joan will be missed by several nieces, nephews and to all who knew her. Per the request of Joan, all services will be private for the family.
