Chicopee – Joseph James Plasse, 63, beloved husband, father, brother and uncle passed away peacefully on January 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital. Joseph was born January 20, 1953 in Springfield to the late Gaston L. and Helen R. (Chapin) Plasse. Joseph was raised in Springfield and was a graduate of Classical High School. He proudly served his country during Vietnam on the USS Wichita (AOR-1) in the United States Navy. Joseph was a good man who loved his family. He was an avid fisherman and loved music especially the Beatles. He is survived by he loving wife of 41 years Valleriana (Gagariano) Plasse, his son James Plasse, his sisters Carol Eaton, Susan Worell, and Gail Gaudreau and his nieces Jill, Cora, Julie and Cindy. There will be a Chapel Service, Friday at 11AM with full military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA.
