KATHLEEN PETERSANTE Obituary
On Friday, August 26, Kathleen M. Petersante of Westfield, MA passed away at the age of 67 while visiting family in Lake Luzerne, New York. Born to Walter Garvansites and Gloria (Best) Garvansites on January 7, 1955 in Great Barrington, MA, she is predeceased by her husband John Petersante, brothers Neil and Walter Garvansites, and nephew Nicolas Yell. She leaves her daughter, Tracy Marshuk of Westfield, her husband Michael Marshuk, and three loving grandchildren, Penelope, Greyson, and Ella. She is survived by her sister Mary Yell of Florence and her children Sarahan Yell of New Hampshire and Ryan Yell of Florence, MA. She also leaves her sisters in law, Genevieve Garvansites of Virginia, Dian Petersante of Chester, MA and Irmguard Petersante of Greenfield, MA, as well as her nephew Michael Garvansites of Virginia, and many other friends and family.
Kathy spent much of her childhood in Easthampton, MA where her family moved from Great Barrington when she was 12 years old. She is a graduate of Easthampton High school. She worked most of her life as a secretary, retiring from Learning Solutions in Florence, MA.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond belief. She was a phenomenal “Grammy” who loved music, dancing and doing craft projects. She enjoyed having game nights with her friends and baking for those she loved.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton St, Westfield, MA 01085 proceeding to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 127 Holyoke Rd, Westfield, MA for an 11:OO AM Funeral Mass. Burial will be private.
