WESTFIELD – Katherine (Kate) Pighetti, 71, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Kate was born on January 10, 1949 in Westfield, daughter to the late Martin and Julia (Brzezinski) Trusty. She grew up in Westfield where she lived most of her life. She was very civically minded, most recently on the committee for the Westfield Farmer’s market. Kate (or Kathy) gave her time generously to a number of local organizations and causes, including Westfield on Weekends, Vintage Baseball, and a campaign to raise awareness for seatbelt safety.
Kate worked for most of her career as a phlebotomist for Noble hospital where she developed a loyal following of patients, many of whom she would consider friends. She loved cooking, gardening, road trips and the outdoors. She is survived by her sons Jon Pighetti of Springfield and Zachary Pighetti of Northampton, her brother Skip Trusty and sister Fran Henley, and many wonderful friends who were as close as family. She was loved and will be missed by many.
