FEEDING HILLS – Loretta (Segzdowicz) Lavin, 92, passed away on December 13, 2025, at Westfield Gardens in Westfield, MA.
Loretta was born on January 19, 1933, in Westfield, MA, to the late Alexander and Anna (Ziembrowska) Segzdowicz.
Loretta graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Westfield, MA. Loretta had worked at Cantell’s Supermarket on Franklin St. in Westfield for many years until their closing, at which time Loretta was a Luncheon Aide at a local elementary school.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her husband Carleton G. Lavin, her sisters Eugenia “Jean” Segzdowicz and Helen Piatek, her brothers Frank Sedowicz, Kazmeir “Charlie / Koziu” Segzdowicz, and Stanley Segzdowicz, her niece Frances Colson, and her nephews Frank “Skipper” Sedowicz and George Fortier, Jr.
She leaves her loving nieces: Sandra Litwak and children of Southwick, MA, Marcella Kratovil of Feeding Hills, MA, Carol Colson Barber and son Brandon of Westfield, MA, Judith Segzdowicz Chelte of Chicopee, MA, and Carol Mercier of Westfield, MA, and her nephew Eugene Fortier of Feeding Hills, MA. She also leaves her special friends, Eleanor Houghton of Westfield, MA, Angie and Bob Cyrankowski of Westfield, MA, and her kind and helpful neighbor Sam Dyer of Westfield, MA, and many other friends at the Hampden Village community in Westfield, MA.
Loretta was a Third Order Dominican of the Lay Fraternities of Saint Dominic.
