LORRAINE CAROLE (ADAMITES) GRIMSLEY

WESTFIELD – Lorraine Carole Grimsley, 80, passed away at her home in Westfield, MA on Sunday, June 25, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Lorraine was born in Erving, MA on October 6, 1942, to Edward J. Adamites and Ella K. Adamites (Barber)

Lorraine graduated from Amherst Regional High School Class of 1960 and had worked in food retail management for many years. 

Lorraine loved the special time she got to spend with her family and friends.  She enjoyed entertaining and hosting for any special occasion, attending to her flowers in her yard and relaxing by her pool.  She also enjoyed racing cars and attending the races at Riverside and in New Hampshire with her life partner Jack Gelgut. 

Lorraine is pre-deceased by her father Edward J. Adamites, her son James F. Grimsley, Jr., and her brother  Kajetan Adamites. 

Lorraine is survived by her mother Ella K. Adamites of Westfield, MA, her life partner Jack Gelgut of Westfield, MA, her sons Kent Grimsley of Rockport, MA and Justin Grimsley (Jennifer) of Cheshire, CT, her daughters Sharon Chambers of Westfield, MA and Michele Bean (Aaron) of Wilmington NC, her sisters Kathleen Van Orman (Glenn) of Lenox, MA and Theresa Tulyholowycz  (Mark) of Southwick, MA, her grandchildren: James Ribiero, Dylan Grimsley, Marissa Grimsley, Levi Grimsley, Kimberly Miller (Brad), Lori Haftman (Nick), Heather Cawthra (Will), Chad Bannish, Brianna Grimsley, and Tyler Grimsley, 14 great-grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Becki Grimsley of Pittsfield, MA, and her best friend Diane, along with many other family members and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton St, Westfield, MA 01085

Please gather at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 127 Holyoke Rd, Westfield, MA at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2023, for Lorraine’s Liturgy of Christian Burial.   A private burial for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
