LOUIS FLETCHER JR Obituary

Westfield, MA  - Louie passed on to eternal life February 12, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born July 31, 1942 in Westfield to Louis K. Fletcher Sr. and Elizabeth (Simchak) Fletcher. He was husband to Jeanette (Quinn) Fletcher. Loved and Respected father of Shawn (and Kathryn) Fletcher of Blandford, MA. Father of John Fletcher. Loved and Respected Grandfather of Max and Levi Fletcher. Loved and adored brother of Pamela (Fletcher) Dupuis. He attended Westfield schools. His first job was at Fletcher Garage and Taxi, a hallmark business which his Grandfather, Albert Fletcher, started in 1926 and it flourished for many decades. He was Chief Mechanic and Body Repair man for many years. He then worked at Columbia Manufacturing in Westfield until his first retirement; after which he started a new chapter working for a local bus company as a monitor, until he retired a second time. Lou was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman and loved hunting, fishing and wild mushroom gathering. He was a member of the Lake George Sportsman Club for decades and became a lifetime honorary member in 2007. Always quite the conversationalist, he could converse with anybody on any subject. His heart was pure and simple and his intentions were always good. When he gave his word, you could count on him doing his best in any situation. He enjoyed working with his hands and made many unique and whimsical items which he often gave as gifts or sold locally. His homemade horseradish was well known in horseradish connoisseur circles and its potency brought tears to many an eye. Louie was generous, kind, hardworking, humble, legendary and above all else a simple man. He made so many feel so good with his kind and compassionate words and his amazing hugs. His absence will leave a huge void for his friends and family and they will forever honor his memory in their hearts. The family asks that you honor his memory by loving each other and being kind. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.  End of life arrangements entrusted to Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton St, Westfield, MA 01085 To express condolences please visit Louie’s memorial page at www.westfieldfuneralhome.com
