Laurie Ellen (Humphreys) Sharples

Laurie Ellen Sharples, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17th at Baystate Medical Center.  Laurie was born on May 25, 1958 in Westfield, daughter to the late Albert Humphreys and Mary Champagne.   Laurie was a graduate from Gateway Regional School.  She worked for Big Y for over 30 years before her retirement.  She enjoyed vacationing in New Hampshire, a good margarita and a golden champagne tea.  She was an avid horse lover and reader.  Laurie is survived by her daughter Shanna Sharples and her partner Jon Avery, and her grand children Jonathan, Becky Lynn, Robert Avery and her grand dog Sky.  She will be dearly missed by her sister and to all who knew her.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband David Sharples in 2018.  Calling hours for Laurie will be Saturday, February 29th from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Laurie's memory to the Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremeont Way, Westfield, MA 01085 or to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project, 1124 E.
