Madia M. (Buttles) Kmiecik, 77, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. Born in Otis, Mass, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Doris (Jones) Buttles. Madia was a long time resident of Russell, Blandford and Westfield, Mass. Most of all, Madia loved to spend time with family and she loved her cats. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing. Madia was predeceased by her husband Theodore Kmiecik in November 2012. She is survived by her children Cindy Zabielski of Chicopee, Mass; Helen Descoteaux and her husband Hank of Zolfo Springs, Fla; Theodore Kmiecik and his wife Sherry of Enfield, Conn; MaryAnn Plourde of Rohnert Park, Calif; Tina Kmiecik of Westfield; Wendy Menard of Westfield; her sister Dianna Calvanese and husband Andrew of Chicopee; her grandchildren Amanda and Jason Plourde of Rohnert Park; Jolene and Charlene Kmiecik of Enfield; Ashley Menard, West Springfield; and a niece Melissa McDonough of Longmeadow and nephew Brian Whitehall of Westfield. Calling hours for Madia will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at Westfield Funeral Home and Cremation, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 7. Burial will be private for the family.
