PATRICIA GUERIN Obituary

WESTFIELD - Patricia Ann Guerin died peacefully on March 24, 2022 surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. She was born August 09, 1938, in Rockingham, Connecticut and lived in Westfield, Ma for most of her adult life. Her parents were Joseph Anthony and Mary Rose Bohacik.  Patricia loved people and took time to share life lessons with others.  Patricia managed her husband’s propane gas company in the late 60’s and early 70’s during their brief stay in Vermont.  Moving back to Westfield proved motivating as she learned the importance of independence in her own life. She surrounded herself with those willing to support this and was dedicated to being the best at her career.  As a mother of six girls, she instilled the importance of family while balancing work and friends.  She was the forefront of the woman’s individuality before it was a movement and encouraged her daughters to be independent.  As an avid Red Sox fan, she rarely missed a game and watched future Red Sox player at the minor league games.

Pat was a leader who could evaluate a room as she entered and always made her presence known.  Even as a petite 4’8” woman, her entrance was always the life of an event and a joy to watch and learn from.  Her humor was a balance of wit and feistiness which she shared equally and with others. Pat was willing to share her ideas and determined to be a voice at the table.

While at her senior housing unit, Pat spent time as a volunteer social director.  She found day trips interesting and informative and loved sharing these adventures with others.  She would scout out the venues with “New Yorker daughter” to determine accessibility, cost, and interest for others before booking the event.  She also created a Pitch league and often included “The baby daughter” as a player.  Her friends knew the nicknames of her daughters which included, “The banker, Vermonter, and the Northerners.

Any visit with her included coffee, laughter, and insight.  She loved people and surrounded herself with loving and caring friends and family.  She enjoyed organizing the family/friends Christmas gathering as a way to celebrate her love to everyone.  She attended family camping trips and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She appreciated the loving health care provided by grand-daughters Natalie and Ali and was proud of their strength during her health struggles.

Survivors include siblings: Paul, Keith, and Danny and was predeceased by Sonny, Roland, Michael and Katherine.  She also leaves behind her six daughters: Sheila (Arthur) Dickinson of Roxbury, Vermont; Cynthia (Doug) Trask of Randolph Center, Vermont; Linda Orcutt of Westfield, Sandra (Michael) Foster of White Creek, New York and North Pownal, Vermont; Charlene (Dave) Kareta of Southampton, Ma; and Susan Fernandez of Westfield.  Grandchildren include Heather Orcutt, Jennifer Waiter; Pamela Hall; Christina Dickinson; Danielle Dickinson; Jason Trask, Krystal Trask, Natalie Pilecki; Tasha Hamburg;  Kelly Lopez;  Chris Lopez, Ali Prefontaine, Seth Foster; and all their families.

Visitation will be at the Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton Street, Westfield, MA 01085 on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.  A funeral home service will be held at 12:30 PM.
