SUSAN GAIL (CARPOWITS) DONAHUE

RUSSELL – Susan Gail Donahue, 76, passed away at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. 

Sue was born on May 28, 1950, in Springfield, MA, to the late Joseph J Carpowits, Jr and Lorraine L (Wood) Carpowits.

She retired from Noble Hospital in 2017 after 37 years of service as a medical surgery unit secretary.

Sue took great pride in decorating her home in many ways.  She was an avid gardener, and many knew her home as “the house with all the flowers.”  Sue was a real lover of all animals. 

She is survived by her husband Leo A Donahue, Jr of Russell, MA, her daughters Megan Donahue and her husband Kevin Townsley of Topsfield, MA. Leigh and her husband Anthony Williams of Strasburg, VA. Sue's grandchildren Dylan and Abigayle Jenks, her sister Nan Carpowits of Westfield, along with many other family members and friends.

Services will be private. A celebration of life event will be determined on a later date.
