THELMA S. (SUTCLIFFE) LEARNED

WESTFIELD - On October 13th, surrounded by her children, Thelma S. Learned, 94, passed away peacefully.  Thelma was born on July 6, 1929, to the late Richard S. Sutcliffe and Bertha (Heintz) Sutcliffe. She was raised in Monson, MA and moved to Springfield, MA when she married William F. Learned in 1950. In 1977, she returned to Monson with her family. Thelma had lived the past 10 years with her daughter Lee in Westfield, MA.  Known by many as "Other Grammie", Thelma enjoyed reading, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and playing penny slot machines. 

She is survived by her children, Lee Lacienski of Westfield, MA, Debi Robbins and husband Keith of Blandford, MA, Ed Learned of CA, Jim Learned and wife April of Brimfield, MA, Ann Choquette of TN and Jon Learned of Monson, MA, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother William Sutcliffe of Wales, MA,  sister-in-law Betty Sutcliffe of Hampden, MA,  former daughter-in-law Tracy Learned of Granby, MA and dear friend Donna Hilt-Soforenko, along with many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, William F. Learned, her siblings Laura Warden, Mary Jane Whitney and David Sutcliffe and her sons-in-law Daniel Lacienski, Joseph Roberts and Mark Choquette. 

To honor Thelma’s wishes, there will be no services.
