WAYNE SCOTT JONES

SPRINGFIELD – Wayne Scott Jones, 68, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA

Wayne was born on July 20, 1955, in Bennington, VT to DeForest Wayne Jones, Jr and Barbara Beatrice (Makis) Caron.

Wayne graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, MA class of 1973, and continued his education at Holyoke Community College. 

Wayne had worked for many years in sales and marketing retiring from Gerber Garment Technology Inc. Throughout his career he traveled the world and enjoyed learning about many different cultures and their food. 

During his free time, Wayne and his family enjoyed keeping a seasonal camp in Monson, MA.

While camping he would enjoy being outdoors and sitting by the fire. Wayne was an avid reader, he enjoyed murder mysteries most of all. Music was another past-time favorite of Wayne’s.  He enjoyed many genres of music with an extensive online library of over 10,000 songs. Wayne was a huge sports fan. He loved to watch Football and Baseball. Wayne also loved cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Wayne leaves his wife Sharon (Beiser) Jones of Springfield, MA, his mother Barbara Caron of Springfield, MA, his daughters Elizabeth Barber-Jones of Ludlow, MA, and Kimberly Ledoux of Springfield, MA, his sons Daniel Jones of Massachusetts and California, Christopher Jones of New York, and Daniel Ledoux of Chicopee, MA, his brother Gary Jones of East Longmeadow, MA, his sister Karen Ricci of Connecticut, his grandchildren: Tyler, Alex, Jeremiah, Ray, Ally, Isaiah, Jada, Brady, and Spencer, his fur babies Tony, Precious, and Bentley, along with many other family members and friends. 

Wayne is predeceased by his father DeForest Jones and his brother Keith Jones and Keith’s wife Melanie.
